International Confederation of Midwives 30th Triennial Congress
[CZECH REPUBLIC] The 30th ICM Congress in will be June 1-5, 2014 in Prague and will bring to the forefront the challenges facing midwifery, particularly in Eastern Europe, and the bridges we must build to ensure high quality women-centred midwifery care in that region of the world. The theme for the 2014 congress is "Midwives: Improving Women's Health Globally," a theme which reflects the fifth Millenium Development Goal on improving maternal health. The subthemes include:
- bridging midwifery and women's health rights
- access: bridging the gap to improving care and outcomes for women and their families
- education: the bridge to midwifery and women's autonomy; and
- midwifery: bridging culture and practice. [adapted from conference website]
