Resource Spotlight: Foundation for Universal Health Coverage and the Post-2015 Development Agenda

The Third Global Forum on Human Resources for Health in Recife, Brazil provided an opportunity for an inclusive dialogue to shed light on what universal health coverage really means in relation to human resources for health. Universal health coverage is not a distant dream. Rather, it is feasible journey, and many countries are progressing towards this goal. The report summarizes the thematic debates and discussions and various other activities of the Forum.

"Moving beyond an exclusive focus on the numbers of health workers, equal importance should be given to the accessibility, acceptability and quality of the services they provide," the report's authors argue.
