WHO Call for Health Worker Retention Research Proposals


 

A call for proposals has been jointly issued by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and the Human Resources for Health Department of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the topic of “Incentives to Attract and Retain Qualified Health Workers to Under-served Areas within Low and Middle Income Countries.”

The question of the effectiveness of incentives - financial and non-financial - to attract and retain health workers to under-served areas within low and middle income countries emerged as the highest priority research question in the field of human resources for health.

Deadline for submission of proposals is September 12, 2008.
