Call for Papers on WHO’s ‘Code’ of International Recruitment of Health Personnel


The journal Human Resources for Health is asking for new manuscripts to review the “relevance and effectiveness” of the WHO’s Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel.

The Code, adopted in May 2010, is a “a global response to a global problem that was designed by countries to serve as a continuous and dynamic framework for global dialogue and cooperation to address challenges associated with the international migration of health personnel,” writes the editors of Human Resources for Health.

Deadline for submissions is January 31, 2015.

The Open Access, peer-reviewed journal is asking manuscripts broadly investigate the relevance and effectiveness of the Code. Human Resources for Health also includes key overarching questions to be addressed in manuscripts, including highlighting elements of success within specific countries, whether the code delivered common benefits to labor markets, and if the code can deliver benefits to health workers throughout the world.
